Most Internet users will have no difficulty listening to the RealAudio sound clips provided. However, if you encounter an error or other problem when clicking on a desired clip, please make sure your computer meets the following requirements:

  • The most current version of RealPlayer. If you don't have it installed, you can download a free version, known as "RealPlayer Basic," from the RealNetworks Web Site. Follow the download and install instructions from their web site and return to www.jonsprout.com after the installation completes.

  • An Internet connection of at least 28.8kbps. A "good" 28.8kbps modem connection should encounter no difficulties with the CD and cassette clips provided. The 21 minute NPR WBAA broadcast is encoded at a higher quality and requires a 56kbps modem connection for optimum playback.

  • A Web browser capable of handling "helper apps.," also known as "plug-ins." Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Firefox on both Windows and Macintosh computers are ideal. RealPlayer works from within your Web browser to help you listen to streaming audio.

If you encounter further difficulties that you cannot resolve with support information from the RealNetworks Web Site, you may contact the webmaster for assistance.
